Montauk Point Lighthouse
Montauk, NY
Authorized in 1792 and first lit in 1797, the lighthouse is the oldest in New York State and the landmark every boat leaving the harbor eventually runs past.
For a non-fishing member of the party it is the easiest way to make the trip worth their morning too.
Before you go
- —Museum hours, admission and parking are set by the site — check before you drive out.
- —The rocks below the light are unforgiving footing; surf anglers there know the tide.
